One hundred years later, a small pyroclastic flow occurred, creating Mount Kappogadake, and further volcanic debris piled up.<br \/>\nThe area between these deposits became the area that is now called Owakudani.<\/p>\n<p>Volcanic activity is still taking place on Mt. Hakone, and eruptions containing hydrogen sulfide are rising from the surrounding area.
