TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET is a pass that provides unlimited travel on 60 selected highway bus services and local bus services throughout 6 prefectures including, Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, and Fukushima in the Tohoku region. 4-Day pass is 10,000yen and 7-Day pass is 13,000yen. Please note that 11 routes need an advanced reservation, while other 49 routes does not need advanced reservations to board a bus.

You can exchange your voucher you received via email for a TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET at every designated exchange location before the validity period indicated on your voucher.

There are two locations where you can exchange your voucher for a ticket in Sendai as follows
SENDAI STATION EAST EXIT JR BUS INFORMATION STATION
Business hours: 6:50AM-7:30PM
MIYAGI KOTSU MIYAKO SENDAI HIGHWAY BUS CENTER
Business hours: 6:50AM-9:00PM

You can purchase your voucher for TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET( 4-Day Pass or 7-Day Pass) online before you come to Japan via Japan Bus Online Website at https://japanbusonline.com/Tohoku . Please note that Japan Bus Online Website is available from 5AM JST to following 2 AM JST for reservations and checking information as website performs a 3 hour maintenance (2AM-5AM JST)

We are sorry, but there are no other ways to redeem your voucher for a ticket other than showing a printed copy of your voucher. We are afraid that you cannot exchange your voucher by presenting on your smartphone/tablet. Passengers are advised to hand over a printed copy of your voucher received via email, along with your passport to redeem your voucher at designated locations.

There are 60 bus routes that are covered with the TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET. Please note that 11 routes need an advanced reservation, while other 49 routes does not need advanced reservations to board a bus. If you would like to book your bus service you wish to ride in advance, please go to Japan Bus Online Website at Usable routes &booking for an online reservation. We are sorry, but reservations for the bus service you wish to board cannot be made at designated locations where you exchange your voucher for a ticket.

If you can hold your child on your lap during a ride, he/she'll travel free. Please purchase a voucher in case he/she needs their own seats. There are not child fare available.

You are entitled to request a refund and change of the validity period of your voucher before you complete your reservation for a bus service you wish to ride via Japan Bus Online Website or/and exchanged your voucher for Tohoku Highway Bus Ticket.

You may have to repurchase a new ticket in case it is stolen or lost.

Yes, you can keep it because we do not collect it after usage. However, if you use it after the valid period is finished, an additional charge will be required whatever the reason may be.
