Eligibility

・You are a tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sight-seeing, under the entry status of "temporary visitor". OR

・You are a Japanese national living outside of Japan who meets the described conditions.

How It Works

Before your travel

・Purchase an Exchange Voucher at Japan Bus Online & receive a voucher code by email.

・Reserve the bus you wish to ride with the voucher code at Japan Bus Online https://japanbusonline.com/en/TohokuRouteList.

Only 23 routes require an advanced reservation. Click and check out the usable route list here.

During your travel

・ Redeem the TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET with the Exchange Voucher upon arrival in Japan at designated ticket office. The following must be presented for ticket redemption.

- Your passport

- Exchange Voucher in either printed / electronic format

Get on board

・Buses you can ride with the pass are identified with a sticker on the front window.

・Present the redeemed TOHOKU HIGHWAY BUS TICKET and your passport to a bus driver prior to boarding. E-ticket must be presented also, if you have reserved bus services online. E-ticket will be sent to your e-mail address you used to book a ticket via Japan Bus Online Website.

Note: Please tear off the ticket on the left side of the 2-Day Pass or 3-Day Pass, and put the torn portion of the ticket into the farebox.
