Located near the center of the island and often called the “belly button of Hokkaido,” the Furano area is a picture-perfect destination where colorful flowers bloom in summer. The first stop after departing Sapporo Station is Highland Furano, a resort hot spring hotel surrounded by lavender fields and rich natural scenery.
