Aizu Korori Sankannon temples& Buddha of Medicine and Healing, a National Treasure, Tour
Aizu was one of the first regions in Tohoku where Buddhist culture flourished. This region is called “Buddhist Capital Aizu”, because there exists numerous Buddhist statues and temples constructed between the early Heian Period, Middle and modern ages. The people of Aizu were people of good faith and had a custom of paying respect to all 33 Kannon Buddha temples in the form of a pilgrimage. Among many temples, it is said that visiting the Aizu Korori San Kannon, three temples in Aizu( Nakata Kannon, Tachiki Kannon, and Torioi Kannon temples)that enshrine the Kannon Goddess of Mercy, will bring you blessings and keep you healthy both mentally and physically.

During the tour, you will have a chance to appreciate the depths of the historic, unique Buddhist culture and trace the footprints of pilgrims who explored Aizu Buddhism in the old times.
